The brass band played, the craft stalls kept busy, the horticultural marquee was filled with beautiful exhibits and the classic cars gleamed on Capel Recreation Ground last Saturday. Another hugely successful Plant Sale was organised by the Society last weekend. Villagers queued and crammed themselves into Capel Memorial Hall searching out bargains. Capel Horticultural Society organised the annual litter pick around the village last weekend (Saturday 27 April). Society members and villagers turned out to collect an amazing 40 black sacks of rubbish as well as garden furniture, a bicycle and a pushchair all left abandoned around the village.
